Forest Products Society - OWIC Workshop

California's New Formaldehyde Regulations
Impact on Wood Products Manufacturers

July 10th-11th, 2007
Valley River Inn,
Eugene, OR

About the Workshop

The Willamette Valley Chapter of the Forest Products Society and Oregon Wood Innovation Center organized a workshop on the new California Air Resource Board's (CARB) Air Toxic Control Measure for formaldehyde emissions from composite wood products. Approximately 120 participants heard first-hand from CARB personnel about the development and current status of the measure. International regulations and wood products industry perspectives were presented and participants had the opportunity to tour testing chambers at Hexion and PSI in Springfield and Eugene, respectively.

Presentations given at the workshop are linked below.

To continue the discussion, an on-line discussion forum is now available at http://owic.oregonstate.edu/bboard/. The forum is intended to facilitate continued dialogue on this topic and will serve as the venue for posting answers to the written questions submitted by participants during the session.

Our thanks to the presenters, sponsors, and to all the participants for a great session.
